SVGEF Art Competition

St Vincent and the Grenadines Environment Fund held an art competition to showcase the talent of their community in a time of despair after the volcanic eruptions in St Vincent earlier this year.

The winner was Jonella Charles (pictured below with her painting), a recent graduate of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, where she studied Fine Arts Design and Communications. Jonella was inspired by nature’s ability to deliver beauty and danger in tandem, and based her painting on a photograph taken in Byera, in the North of the island, as well as Richard Dey’s poem “Volcano Septet”.
