A Third Year of Impact with the Regatta Foundation
2025- 2026
We’re thrilled to mark the third year of our collaboration with the Regatta Foundation and its brands—Regatta Great Outdoors, Dare2B and Craghoppers. Together, we’re backing three innovative local environmental projects that tackle climate and biodiversity challenges, all while encouraging people to reconnect with nature. A big thank you to the Regatta Foundation for continuing to power this vital work!
REGATTA x DEVON ENVIRONMENT FOUNDATION
SEAGRASS MONITORING ~ DEVON, UK
Seagrass is one of the ocean’s most powerful carbon sinks—but the UK has lost over 90% of its meadows due to dredging, anchoring, and water pollution. Regatta’s previous support focused on Wild Planet Trust’s initiative ‘Save Our Seagrass’ delivering critical impact through eco-mooring installation, ongoing monitoring, and community engagement.
This year’s partnership with Discover the Cove builds on that foundation, through a new seagrass study that will inform the creation of a No Take Zone in Brixham—the strongest level of marine protection.
Key activities include:
- Dive surveys across three Devon sites
- Data collection and analysis on seagrass health
- Direct engagement with policymakers, fishers, and local stakeholders
This next phase supports the continued protection of seagrass habitats and move towards long-term policy change. Together, we are combining ecological science with community action to secure the future of these vital underwater meadows.
DARE2B x IONIAN ENVIRONMENT FOUNDATION
SUSTAINABLE SAILING ~ IONIAN ISLANDS, GREECE
Charter boats are on the rise throughout the Greek islands, disturbing the surrounding Posidonia meadows, sea turtles and dolphins.
This partnership has helped anchor the Sustainable Sailing Greece initiative, which works directly with charter companies, crew, and clients to promote responsible sailing practices. In this second phase, the project has firmly established its presence within the charter sector through:
- Distribution of multilingual “Sustainable Sailing Top Tips” posters now aboard hundreds of chartered boats and in boat shops across Corfu
- Awareness campaigns around plastic reduction and recycling
- A new collaboration with Greenpeace Greece to explore installing freshwater refill stations in tourism hotspots
This year, looking ahead to Phase 3, the focus will shift to training crew members and building incentive systems to encourage charter companies to adopt safe anchoring and low-impact sailing behaviours—helping to protect marine ecosystems while influencing the boating industry from within.
CRAGHOPPERS x MALLORCA PRESERVATION
CABRERA’S DOLPHINS ~ MALLORCA, SPAIN
Underwater noise from recreational boats, ferries, and cargo ships poses a growing threat to marine life—particularly to dolphins, who rely on sound to communicate and navigate.
Through the Dolphins of Cabrera project, nine hydrophones have been installed across Cabrera National Park to monitor underwater noise and dolphin activity. So far, the project has achieved:
- 72,958 audio recordings captured
- 837 dolphin calls identified
- 30 individual bottlenose dolphins recognised by their unique whistles
Now entering its final year, this phase of the project will focus on in-depth data analysis—mapping dolphin behaviour against patterns of underwater noise. This evidence will be used to expose gaps in the effectiveness of the current marine protected area and push for stronger regulatory protections. By 2026, Regatta will have funded over 50% of this pioneering project, directly contributing to real conservation outcomes!
We are delighted to be supported by the Regatta Foundation. Its brands Regatta, Craghoppers and Dare2b are all driving forces in this partnership with Conservation Collective connecting people with nature by helping people enjoy the great outdoors with great kit. This partnership is a stellar example of how non-profits and corporations can create powerful synergies that drive positive impact and promote a shared vision of a sustainable future.
‘We’re so proud to continue this dynamic partnership with the Regatta Foundation. Their support is helping local changemakers protect nature on the frontlines—bringing vital funding, visibility, and momentum to grassroots environmental action. For the first time with a Conservation Collective partner, we’re using £10,000 of Regatta Foundation’s contribution as match funding on Crowdfunder—encouraging the public to donate with the goal to double funding for the seagrass project with Devon Environment Foundation and Discover the Cove.’
Jade Brudenell, Executive Director of Conservation Collective
