Summer activities in the Ionian
The last five months have been unusual for the whole world due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But as life goes on as normal as possible, the Ionian Environment Foundation continues to support local sustainability initiatives and empower communities to address the environmental threats facing the Ionian Islands and the Ionian Sea.
Our three key areas of interest are marine conservation, landscape and biodiversity, waste management.
We have approved two new projects, both with a focus on marine conservation. That makes ten projects supported in our first year – not a bad effort!
We have so far raised nearly €100,000, which given the circumstances, we’re very proud about. However, we keep receiving interesting proposals from new and existing partners to tackle some big issues, including a high impact systematic approach to waste management. Therefore, if you have not done so yet, please support with an annual or one-time donation, so that we can pursue our goal to protect, sustain and restore the unique and beautiful Ionian Islands.
