WASTE MANAGEMENT with Depeche Mode & Hublot
Our partnership with Hublot and Depeche Mode is on a mission to tackle global plastic pollution at the grassroots. The projects fit into three overarching categories. This category is Waste Management

The Waste Management category covers projects that divert waste from landfill, upcycling, recycling and composting. These include:
ROUND 1
- Ionian Environment Foundation – Sin.Praxi, Ionian (Greece): fuelling education and effective waste management led by local champions motivated to act and protect their patch.
- Lamu Environment Foundation – Kiunga Marine Reserve Clean-up, Lamu (Kenya): working together to gather and process plastic waste responsibly in a remote archipelago location, including upcycling to create building materials.
ROUND 2
- St Vincent & the Grenadines Environment Fund – Phil D. Whale (Caribbean): Installing whale sculptures as recycling collection hubs across Bequia, leading educational initiatives and a competition in schools, contributing to Action Bequia’s weekly waste processing of up to 24,000kg.
ROUND 4
- Lanka Environment Fund – Mapping of Informal Waste Management in Batticaloa – championing local waste collection mapping to help prevent ‘open dumping’ and inform local authorities on disposal hotspots.
