Ionian Environment Foundation summer newsletter

Summer 2022 has seen a number of IEF funded and supported projects in action across the region. Read its summer  newsletter to know all about them! 

Project updates:

• Corfu butterfly conservation project – poster guides to help with identification and  awareness-raising of local  butterfly species
• Pick the alien  – There are now 11 locally-inspired recipes using edible invasive species such as lionfish and blue crab
• Seagrass carbon capture assessment study – Corfu’s Posidonia meadows store 563.85 tons of CO2
• The Ionian Dolphin project – studying the overlap between fisheries and dolphin ranges to design appropriate conservation measures such as MPAs
• Beach clean-up in Ithaca
