REDUCING POLLUTION
Mannar Region System Solutions (MARESSOL), Lanka Environment Fund
Local Partner: SALT, Sustainability, IUCN, Suganthi Devadason Marine Research Institute
Lanka Environment Fund is an integral part of a larger coalition of environmental organisations including SALT Sustainability, IUCN, and the Suganthi Devadason Marine Research Institute; that aims to reduce the amount of marine debris washing ashore the Gulf of Mannar’s ecologically sensitive coastline. This transboundary project between India and Sri Lanka involves a multitude of stakeholders working together towards offering policy recommendations for government institutions, facilitating community engagement activities and piloting a scalable solution to closing the loop on marine debris in the area.
